Getting an anonymous relay connector configured for use with scan to email or different alerting functions has always been more confusing and time consuming than I thought it should be. One would think just ticking ‘anonymous users’ on the receive connector would do the job, but Microsoft likes to complicate things.

Below are the settings which allow this to work as expected. You can also restrict which devices can use this receive connector by putting in IP addresses under the Network tab.
